After 6 of 12 rounds, Rockstar/Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey has established himself as the man to beat in the Rockstar Energy/Rockwell Time Fast Lap Competition. The Fast Lap Competition, new for 2010, awards one point to the rider who posts the fastest lap time in the second 450 moto at each round of the 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Nationals. After grabbing the Fast Lap bonus points at Budds Creek, Thunder Valley, and RedBud, Dungey heads into Milleville this weekend with 3 -point lead over Andrew Short and Mike Alessi, both of whom have 1 point each.
What's the carrot for the 450 riders? How about a sick custom Rockwell watch!!! After the 2010 season wraps up at the series finale at Pala Raceway, the top three riders with the most Fast Lap points will be the proud owners of a one-off, custom engraved, diamond loaded Rockwell timepiece.
The current point standings are: 1. Ryan Dungey (4 points), 2. Mike Alessi (1 point), 3. Andrew Short (1 point).
For additional video footage of the Rockstar Fast Lap competition, check out this link.
Need we say more? Thanks to Chris Moore and Quinn Silvernale for the stellar movie!

Rockwell Time Team rider Ashley Fiolek grabbed her first win of the WMX season this past holiday weekend at RedBud. Fiolek nailed both holeshots and cruised her CRF-250R to two moto victories. Being that Rockwell was the title sponsor for the WMX RedBud round, Ashley, along with 2nd place finisher Jessica Patterson and 3rd place finisher Tarah Geiger, walked away with a one-off custom Rockwell watch. Going into Milleville, Ashley sits second in points, 20 points behind Patterson.
Jumping to the 250 class, Justin Barcia put in some solid rides at the legendary RedBud track. His third place finish in the second 250 moto paired with his 5th in the first moto gave Justin 4th overall for the weekend. Fellow Rockwell Team riders Broc Tickle, Jake Weimer, and Martin Davalos had overall finishes of 7th, 8th, and 9th respectively.

Mark you calendars for the Monster Wake Up Wake Competition. Rockwell will be there with handing out swag and making a ruckus! July 24th at Pinview Reservoir. Be there or be triangle!

Riders came from all over the United States to take on the formidable Widowmaker climb this past weekend for Round 2 of the Rockwell Time Professional Hill Climb Series in Croydon, Utah. Matt Coleman, hailing from Laurel, Montana and riding a heavily modified FJ-1200, came out on top and claimed the title of the 2010 Widowmaker Champion. Petey Krunich, riding a Bandit 1200, would finish 2nd overall and Corey Erhardt, on board a KX-1000, rounded out the podium in the 3rd position. Rockwell Time Team rider Brandon Whitlock from Santaquin, Utah was one of only three riders to top the 1,000 plus vertical feet Champion Hill in the 701-Open Exhibition Class on his KZ-1500. Unfortunately a mistake in the 0-700 Exhibition would regulate Whitlock from challenging for the overall. The crowd witnessed some amazing climbs, some horrific crashes, and a stunning aerial performance from the Rockwell Air Time Skydive Team.
The action is sure to heat up as the series heads into its final round at the Great American Championship Motorcycle Hill Climb in Billings, Montana on July 30 through August 1.

Rockwell Time Team driver Ricky James slashed his way to the front of the pack to grab the win in the Super Light class this past Sunday at Round 8 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series at Miller Motor Sports Park. After finishing 5th in Saturday's Super Light race, Ricky was determined to turn things around and get back to his 'winning' ways. Ricky started Sunday's race in the outside first row position and quickly settled in with the early leaders. While trying to hold off Ricky James, race leader, Jeremy 'Twitch' Stenberg, got out of control and started to swap his truck from side to side in one of the track's many technical sections. Ricky didn't let off gas and was eventually forced off the track when he and Twitch collided. Once back on course, Ricky let it all hang out and started his charge to the front of the pack. After passing two drivers in one corner, Ricky regained the #1 position and raced to the checkers.
The win was a statement that even though Ricky is paralyzed from the sternum down, he does not let anything hold him back from being one of the toughest racers on four-wheels. Big props to Ricky and the entire SoCal Super Trucks Team for taking the win and letting Rockwell be part of their crew. Be sure to check out the #24 Super Light truck of Ricky James at rounds 9 & 10 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series on August 7th and 8th in San Bernardino, California.

Rockwell Time Team rider Justin Barcia, who hails from Ochlocknee, GA, put his CRF250R on the second step of the podium this past weekend at Round 4 of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships at Budds Creek. Barcia's 3-2 moto scores narrowly beat out third place finisher Tyla Rattray who carded 2-3 moto scores. Barcia heads into Round 5 at Lakewood this weekend sitting 4th in series points. The kid has speed and style but has yet to grab an overall this series; we're betting that he'll change that this weekend in Colorado...

Rockwell Time Team rider Ricky Dietrich took over the WORCS points lead with a win at Cahuilla Creek in Anza, California last weekend. Dietrich dominated the event and now holds a two-point lead going into the final four rounds. After taking the lead at the end of the second lap, Ricky led for the remainder of the race and finished nearly a minute and a half in front of second place finisher, Kurt Caselli.
"I got off to a good start and pulled right behind Kurt (Caselli) on the first section," said Dietrich. "I ended up passing him and just kept up a good pace. The pit board was telling me I was gaining time on each lap, but I didn't feel like I was riding super hard. I think the fact that Kurt and I were the only ones that were jumping the pro section the whole race made a big impact on the lead."
Even though the next WORCS event isn't until the end of July, Ricky will keep busy with Mammoth MX this weekend and the EnduroCross on July 17 at The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

Rockwell Time Team rider Ashley Fiolek has been nominated for a 2010 Teen Choice Award in the Best Female Action Sports Athlete category. Teens 13 to 19 years of age vote on their favorite actors, musicians and sports stars to determine those who will receive the prestigious awards. Head to www.teenchoiceawards.com to cast your vote.
"I just found out that I was nominated for a Teen Choice Award, and I am so stoked!," claimed the 19-year-old motocross star from Saint Augustine, Florida. "I'm the only teen nominated in this category, so I hope to get a lot of votes from my peers."
The popular awards show airs on FOX August 9 at 8:00 p.m. / 7:00 p.m. Central.

...seriously.

Rockwell Time welcomes moto athlete Martin Davalos to the team. After ending the East Coast Lites Supercross Series 9th in points, Martin has started off the 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Championship Series with some solid rides. After qualifying fourth overall in practice this past weekend in Texas, Davalos rode to 13-9 moto finishes giving him 11th for the day. Martin currently sits 12th in points going into Round 3 this coming weekend at Mt. Morris. Martin hails from Ecuador but now calls Cairo, Georgia home. Which watch will you see Martin rockin? in the pits. That would be none other than the Deron Williams Edition 747. Nice pick Martin, super classy but as tough as it gets! Keep an eye out for Martin as he challenges the rest of the Lites riders throughout the summer on some of the gnarliest moto tracks in the country.

Rockwell Time Team rider Mike Alessi finished 2nd at the US Grand Prix this past weekend at Glen Helen Raceway. Although crowd attendance was not as expected, the racing action was intense and the international vibe was buzzing. Alessi battled fellow Rockwell rider and 350 SXF pilot Antonio Cairoli for most of the weekend. During the first moto, Cairoli grabbed the holeshot and early moto lead while Alessi sat in second. Mike passed for the lead late in the moto but Cairoli regained the lead with two laps to go and took the checkers with Alessi in tow. Cairoli would finish 3rd in moto 2 behind Townley and Desalle while Alessi grabbed the 4th position. Antonio ended up taking the overall with 1-3 moto scores just in front of Alessi who ended up 2nd overall with 2-4 moto scores.
Be sure to check out the second round of the 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Nationals this coming weekend at the Freestone National in Wortham, Texas. Rockwell Time rider Mike Alessi looks to pick up where he left off, in front with no one in sight!

The entire Rockwell family is devastated at the loss of Jed Mingo who was killed in a plane crash on Friday, August 7th.
Jed, an experienced pilot, left Jerome, Idaho on Friday morning with his father and brother en route to a fishing trip in Washington State. When the trio didn't return as planned on Sunday, an aerial search was undertaken by the Civil Air Patrol who spotted the wreckage near the Idaho-Oregon border.
Due to the remote location of the crash, authorities were unable to confirm their fate until Monday evening when search teams on ATVs were able to reach the site.
Beyond being an essential part of Rockwell's Supercross and event team, Jed was a close friend and he will be deeply missed.
Our sympathies go out to all the Mingo family and especially Jed's girlfriend Kirsten.
Please email your memories of Jed to: rememberingjedmingo@rockwelltime.com
We would like to collect them to share with Jed's family and friends.

Dusty Hanks and Kai Kai Bucholz, members of Rockwell's elite "Rockwell Air Time" skydiving team were two of 108 carefully selected international skydivers that set a new world record for formation skydiving while falling headfirst.
The record was set this last Friday at Skydive Chicago, an even in Ottawa, Illinois. The formation required perfect timing -- the group jumped from 18,000 ft and reach speeds of up to 180 mph during a brief 40 second freefall.

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (July 8, 2009) Rockwell Time is proud to partner with Axis Wake Research, manufacturer of high performance wakeboard boats. Don't miss Rockwell's wrapped Axis Wake A22, which will accompany the Rockwell Events Semi to local and regional wake events and comps including INT and IWA stops. The new A22 is off the charts with the all-new Axis Raptor 400 MPI engine, Skybox Slide seating, and Wakebox 900 Ballast System. At a base price of only $39,995, the new Axis A22 is the ultimate price point wakeboarding boat made for the riders' lifestyle.
Rockwell Time wake rider and Axis Wake team rider, Randall Harris, had the following to say about the A22: "I've had a lot of great boats in my career, but the A22 is seriously the best boat I could ever ask for!" Matt Brady, Rockwell's Wake Go-To-Guy is also stoked on the A22. Matt and the Rockwell crew took our new A22 straight from the Axis factory in California to Lake Powell for Brostock '09. "I was impressed with everything about the boat. The Axis Cruise Control is dialed, it gets up to speed faster then any boat I have ever been on, the sound system thumps, and its unique designs turned plenty of heads at Brostock," adds Matt. "The boat handles like a formula 1 car and pulls like a Canadian logging truck," says Dave Sparks, Rockwell's Event Organizer.

Axis is a division of Malibu Boats, the well-known 27-year-old ski and wakeboard boat manufacturer. However, AWR's recent ascent to the top of the Performance Price Point Wakeboard Boat segment has inserted new energy into the Watersports industry. AWR has the fastest growing dealer network in the history of the segment and this energy and drive is a perfect parallel to the achievements of Rockwell Time. Adam McCall, Managing Director for Axis, had this to say about the partnership, "The team at Rockwell shares the same vision that we do at Axis, which is to remain rooted in the sports that brought us here and to listen to what the market is telling us."
Check out more of the Axis A22 and all of its features at: www.axiswake.com

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (June 9, 2009) Rockwell Time wants to thank Mike Alessi (pictured above) and Ashley Fiolek (pictured below) for their impressive results thus far in the 2009 Lucas Oil MX Nationals. He now has a 31-point lead going into round 4 at High Point. Unfortunately Mike suffered a knee injury while practicing in Pennsylvania early this week. All of us here at Rockwell want to wish Mike a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the track soon. While Mike has been cleaning up in the 450 class, Ashley has done the same in the WMA class. Ashley has taken the overall victory at all three rounds and now leads the series with a 24-point lead. Rockwell wants to thank both riders for their racing efforts and of course for rockin' Rockwell.
